New Episode of Renewed Mind Movie Talk! After the season 3 finale of FX Network\’s Fargo series, we\’ll look back at the 1996 film that inspired the show.Fargo is famous for its portrayal of \”Minnesota Nice,\” a system of manners that demands politeness, even to the point of absurdity. And things do get absurd, violently so. And this raises a question: what good is niceness in a meaningless world? As you\’ll see, Fargo\’s answer to this question is a bit complicated, but in a way that\’s useful for Christians. We\’ll take a look at that answer by examining the movie in relation to Jesus\’s teachings in John 13 and C.S. Lewis\’s thoughts about niceness and newness.Check it out![youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=70vzyW5ffxE&w=560&h=315]

  1. Really enjoyed this! When I first saw this movie many years ago, I wasn’t in a place to think about “nice people or new creation””…just about the foot in the wood chipper! You did a great job of finding Jesus in a bizarre illogical movie world, and I think that’s probably how a good number of people look at the world. Thanks!
